Earlier today, Alicia Keys took to Instagram made an announcement she’ll be hosting the 2019 Grammy Awards.

She shared the news on her Instagram Story.

“I know what it feels like to be on that stage. I know what it feels like to be proud of the work that you’ve put in and to be recognized for it… I just feel grateful that I’m able to bring that light and that energy. This is a first. This is amazing. I think it’s perfect timing. Honestly, I feel really excited.”

In a statement, Grammys President and CEO of the Recording Academy Neil Portnow called Alicia Keys “a dynamic artist with the rare combination of groundbreaking talent and passion for her craft.”‘

Alicia Keys is a 29-time Grammy nominee and 15-time winner, with her most recent win in 2013 in the best R&B album category for “Girl on Fire.”
