Nigerian Army Uses Trump’s Words to Justify the killings of Protesters in Abuja

A few of the Nigerian Army Military criticised for unrestrained and violent human rights abuses and quotes the words of President Trump to justify its fatal shootings over the past week.

The official Twitter account of the Nigerian Army, one of the branches within the Nigerian Armed Forces put up a video showing a clip of Trump’s speech at the White House in regards to the illegal immigration and border security whereby the U.S. president said that the throwing of stones and rocks at American troops would be considered as firearms.

Nigeria Army spokesman John Agim said that the army released the video in response to the report incriminating the army of using weapons against protesters.

Since Trump took office he has moved to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Nigeria, providing training and security equipment to the country’s military and the approval in sale of twelve A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft.
